Oxford Magistrates’ Court heard several cases during the latest session, with defendants facing charges ranging from road traffic offences to drug possession and theft.

A 33-year-old Bicester resident admitted multiple offences occurring on a single date in August.

The defendant, residing at an address in Ascot Way, twice failed to provide breath samples for analysis at separate locations within Oxfordshire on the same day.

Additionally, the individual was found with both a class A substance and a class B substance in their possession.

The defendant also operated a vehicle on Ascot Road while lacking valid driving entitlement and proper insurance coverage.

The court imposed a five-year driving prohibition alongside a six-month custodial sentence, the latter suspended for a year.

Seized substances were ordered for destruction.

A 47-year-old motorcyclist from the Henley-on-Thames area admitted to drink-driving on Marlow Road on August 1.

Breath analysis revealed 43 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres.

The defendant received a fine of £80 plus £85 costs and a £32 victim surcharge.

A 12-month road ban was imposed, though this period could be reduced by three months upon completion of an approved rehabilitation course before April 21 the following year.

A 19-year-old Oxford man faced charges relating to drug possession and breaching police bail conditions.

Cannabis was discovered in his possession in Oxford in April.

The defendant later failed to attend a required police appointment in June.

Electronic monitoring was mandated for six months, with supervision appointments required for up to ten days.

Costs of £85 and a £40 fine were applied.

The controlled substance was ordered destroyed.

A 23-year-old from Reading admitted entering a non-residential building with intent to steal at a car park in Henley-on-Thames in late March 2024.

A six-month prison sentence was given, suspended for 18 months, with £85 costs awarded.

An Iffley Road resident aged 32 pleaded guilty to public intoxication at Poole General Hospital in July.

A £40 fine and £16 victim surcharge were imposed.

A 35-year-old defendant from Arncott, Bicester, admitted one count of shoplifting and one count of assault occurring in Oxford on September 15.

Stolen goods totalled £334.50 in value.

Immediate custody of six weeks was imposed, along with £200 compensation to the victim.
