Edinburgh-based folk musician Adam Holmes is set to perform in Oxford during spring 2027.
His concert will take place at Wesley Memorial Church on May 20, 2027, as part of a six-month touring schedule spanning the first half of the year.
Known for merging traditional Scottish folk elements with contemporary songwriting, Holmes has cultivated a following through his deeply reflective and emotionally resonant compositions.
His musical work has gained significant traction, receiving radio play and contributing to film and television soundtracks, including appearances in the historical drama Outlander and content on Apple TV.
Holmes’s musical foundation began in his hometown of Portobello, Edinburgh, where he was immersed in church music and traditional Scottish airs from an early age.
His artistic development was further shaped by exposure to the city’s dynamic folk music community.
At 19, Holmes achieved a notable milestone by reaching the semi-finals of the BBC Young Traditional Musician competition, which marked his transition to pursuing music professionally.
His subsequent career has been characterised by extensive live performance experience, with over a thousand appearances in intimate venues across the UK and internationally.
He has collaborated and performed alongside respected artists including Martin Simpson, Karine Polwart, John Prine, Laura Marling, Van Morrison, and Jason Isbell.
Holmes currently resides in Edinburgh with his family.
