Witney’s civic leader has been honouring community cohesion and fresh starts through a programme of recent public appearances.
Councillor Jane Doughty has devoted recent months to engaging with local residents, endorsing local activities, and commemorating significant occasions throughout the town.
During the period from August through October, she made visits to community organisations including Witney Shed and the Witney Knitting Group, observing their initiatives directly and conversing with participants.
Councillor Doughty additionally partnered with MP Charlie Maynard to conduct the formal opening ceremony for the new Green House building at Woodgreen School, performing the traditional ribbon-cutting to symbolise the occasion.
The mayor further assisted in unveiling a newly installed defibrillator unit at Taphouse Avenue, situated near Hailey Road, and participated in a Drag Bingo fundraising event alongside members of the Cadets.
She was present at the Golden Gallopers Service, an event that signifies the commencement of the Witney Feast festivities, and demonstrated her backing at the Witney in Pink charitable fundraiser.
