A photo of an Oxford woman has been circulated by police following her sentencing for assault and intimidating a witness.

Charlotte McCollin, who lives on Botley Road in Oxford, attended Oxford Crown Court for sentencing on 25 March, a Wednesday.

The 34-year-old pleaded guilty to two counts of common assault, one count of intimidating a witness, one count of theft, and one count of criminal damage.

The court heard that McCollin was reported to officers by Michelle Marra. After being taken into custody, she was released on bail.

On 28 December the previous year, McCollin was riding a bicycle when she came across Ms Marra. The prosecution alleged that she asked for cash to buy narcotics.

Jan Hayne, acting for the prosecution, told the court that McCollin seized Ms Marra’s scarf, preventing her from breathing for around thirty seconds.

She then hurled a gold-coloured tin canister at the woman.

On 31 December, McCollin went to Ms Marra’s home and subjected her to harassment.

The victim was struck on the face, leaving it red and puffy, the court was told.

On 2 January, McCollin returned to Ms Marra’s residence, wrecked a mobile phone, and took Diazepam pills.

The court heard that McCollin has built up 74 previous convictions, consisting of 205 individual offences.

Judge Michael Roques stated that she carries an extensive criminal history, which substantially worsens the seriousness of the current offences.

McCollin was handed a two-year custodial term and a five-year order preventing her from having any contact with the victim.
