A man from Didcot has received a prison sentence after assaulting his former partner late last year.

Waheed Amodu, residing at Diamond Drive in Didcot, appeared for sentencing at Oxford Crown Court on April 2.

The 23-year-old admitted guilt to multiple violent offenses, which included assault by beating and intentional strangulation.

The crimes took place in Didcot during December of the previous year.

Amadu also confessed to engaging in a controlling and coercive relationship, with the court record indicating he employed ‘violent outbursts and physical assaults.’

Judge Nigel Daly imposed a 27-month jail term because the offenses occurred within a domestic setting.

The Judge stated: “I hope you have the motivation to continue to address your problems.
