At 81, Rolling Stones Legend Mick Jagger Announces Engagement

The lead singer of the iconic rock band reached the one-year anniversary of his engagement at age 81, which came approximately sixty years after the group first played at Oxford University.

The Rolling Stones frontman has been romantically involved with the former ballet dancer for over a decade.

The dance maker disclosed during a conversation with Paris Match released last April that the music icon had asked for her hand in marriage roughly two to three years prior.

She noted that despite the pair having been betrothed for some time, she remains unsure whether a wedding will actually take place.

In response, the dancer mentioned that marriage might happen someday but equally might not.

The couple expressed satisfaction with their current arrangement, with her adding that she would be concerned about changing what works well for them.

Their focus, she explained, involves supporting each other, being there for one another, and keeping everyone involved happy.

This priority, she emphasised, remains central to her approach.

The musician first met his partner while the Stones were touring, with their relationship beginning in 2014.

The singer, now 82, and the 38-year-old dance professional are parents to a son called Deveraux, who arrived in 2016.

The Rolling Stones took to the stage at Oxford University in June 1964 for the Magdalen College Commemoration Ball.

The event attracted significant interest because the ensemble had been relatively obscure when initially secured for the booking, yet had risen to prominence by the following year when the performance actually took place.

They were compelled to abandon an American tour prematurely and fly back to Britain to fulfill their commitment, incurring £1,500 in airfare expenses to collect a mere £100 fee.
