A resident of Oxfordshire passed away at a hospital following a head injury sustained the previous year, according to proceedings at an inquest opening.

The individual, John Thearle of Wallingford, succumbed to his injuries at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford on March 16.

Area coroner Nicholas Graham convened an inquest hearing at Oxfordshire Coroner’s Court on April 2 regarding the 54-year-old’s demise.

Court records indicate that Mr Thearle worked in the construction trade as a plasterer and received a head injury in November of the previous year.

Medical intervention proved unsuccessful, and he ultimately died from the injury.

The official cause of death was recorded as traumatic brain injury.

An online memorial page identifies the deceased by the nickname ‘Ben’.

The tribute stated: “A dearly loved son, brother, uncle and great uncle who will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.”

The full inquest is scheduled to take place at Oxfordshire Coroner’s Court on June 18 at 2pm.
