Cases heard at Oxford Magistrates’ Court included:
A 49-year-old man from Valley Road in Lillington, Leamington Spa, Warwickshire admitted to three charges of drug driving in a Volkswagen Polo on the B4100 Banbury Road in Bicester on November 1 the previous year. Cocaine, Delta-9-Tetrahydrocannabinol and Benzoylecgonine were found in his system. He also admitted possession of a Class B drug, cannabis, on the same date. The court ordered him to pay £85 in costs, a £112 victim surcharge and a £200 fine. He received an 18-month driving ban and the drugs were ordered to be destroyed.
A 25-year-old woman from Henry Blyth Gardens in Thame pleaded guilty to drink driving in a Fiat 500 on London Road in Oxford on February 13 this year. She had 48 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath. She was ordered to pay £85 costs, a £110 victim surcharge and a £276 fine. She received a 12-month driving ban, which could be reduced by three months if she completes a course by October 31 this year.
A 40-year-old man from The Orchard in East Challow, Abingdon admitted to two counts of drug driving in a Vauxhall Corsa at Virginia Way in Abingdon on December 14 the previous year. Cocaine and Benzoylecgonine were detected. He also pleaded guilty to driving while disqualified and without third party insurance on the same occasion. He was sentenced to 12 months of drug rehabilitation and must comply with the responsible officer’s requirements to attend appointments for up to 12 days. He was banned from driving for 48 months and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £120 fine.
A 25-year-old man from Botley Road in Oxford pleaded guilty to failing to provide a specimen for analysis, failing to stop when directed by a traffic officer, driving without a licence and driving without third party insurance in a Peugeot 308 on February 10 this year at Whitelands Way in Bicester. He received a 17-month driving ban and was ordered to complete 100 hours of unpaid work within 12 months.
A 39-year-old man from Nortons Terrace in Fordwells, Witney admitted to drink driving in a silver Honda CRV at Norton Way in Carterton on February 13 this year. He had 63 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. He was ordered to pay £85 costs and a £908 fine. He received 10 penalty points.
A 36-year-old man from Hanborough Close in Eynsham pleaded guilty to drink driving in a silver Chevrolet at Hanborough Close in Eynsham on February 11 this year. He had 91 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath. He was ordered to pay £85 costs, a £184 victim surcharge and a £461 fine. He received a 23-month driving ban, which could be reduced by 23 weeks if he completes a course by July 21 next year.
A 53-year-old man from Caversham Road in Reading admitted to driving without third party insurance and without a licence at Cowley Road in Oxford on February 14 this year. He also pleaded guilty to failing to provide a specimen for analysis in Abingdon on July 26 the previous year. He was ordered to pay £200 costs, an £80 victim surcharge and a £200 fine. He received a 36-month driving ban.
