The body of a woman was found dead at an Oxfordshire park on Monday.

Emergency services were called to Browning Road Park in Banbury shortly before 7am on April 13.

Officers are treating the death as “unexplained” but said there is no suspicion around the circumstances.

A spokesman from Thames Valley Police said: “We are preparing a file for the coroner after an unexplained but non-suspicious death in Banbury on Monday, April 13.

“A 48-year-old woman was sadly found dead in Browning Road Park at around 6.50am.

“We have informed her next of kin and offered them our support at this extremely difficult time.”

Witnesses reported seeing the a section of the park taped off by the police while investigation work was carried out.

Forensics officers were present at the scene too, conducting examinations of the scene.
