A toddler from Banbury passed away at a hospital after developing symptoms at her residence and sustaining injuries such as internal hemorrhaging, according to proceedings at an inquest commencement.

Darcie-Leigh Sino, aged two, who resided in Banbury, died on February 10 at John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.

During the inquest hearing at Oxfordshire Coroner’s Court, it was stated that the child, whose parents are a full-time mother and a delivery driver, became ill at her home on the night of February 9.

She was transported to medical facilities and succumbed the following day at 12:38pm.

The post-mortem examination listed her cause of death as “massive upper gastrointestinal bleeding following oesophageal erosion by suspected foreign object into the aorta.”

A complete investigation into the child’s passing is set to take place at the same court on July 21 at 11am.
