A man from Berkshire has been jailed for repeatedly posting hundreds of video clips about a woman on social media platforms, causing her to live in constant fear for her safety.

David Carron, who lives on Fane Drive in Berinsfield, close to Wallingford, was sentenced at Oxford Crown Court on Tuesday, April 14.

The 32-year-old pleaded guilty to charges including stalking without causing alarm, stalking resulting in fear and distress, sharing an intimate image without consent, and assaulting a member of the emergency services.

Alexandra Bushell, acting as prosecutor, outlined how the first harassment charge involved his former partner and took place between December 2022 and March this year.

The court was told the couple had been together for around 15 years, during which physical violence occurred on several occasions.

By the time Carron commenced his campaign of harassment, they had already been separated for approximately five years.

The second victim was a local woman with whom Carron had some prior familiarity. The court heard he became fixated on her after she purchased cigarettes for him at a Co-op outlet.

He sent multiple friend requests via Facebook and was spotted loitering outside her home.

He generated more than 300 TikTok clips starring her, falsely claiming they were in a romantic relationship. Ms Bushell conveyed that the woman indicated she was extremely frightened about what he might do to her.

Mr Justice Ian Pringle KC stated that Carron had caused severe emotional trauma to these two women and that he must ensure he never comes into contact with them again.

Carron was handed a custodial sentence of 29 months and given a 10-year restraining order.
