An elderly woman was attacked by a dog matching the description of a bull terrier at a park in Oxford.

The woman suffered what officers described as a serious hip injury during the attack at Cutteslowe Park on Thursday April 9 at around 2pm.

The incident is being treated as a dangerous dog case, and police are appealing for anyone with information or who saw what happened to contact them.

A Thames Valley Police representative indicated that officers need help from the public with their inquiry. The representative added that people should get in touch if they saw the incident occur or know who owns the animal. According to the spokesperson, at this stage there is no reason to believe the public faces any wider danger.
