Emergency flooding forces closure of Oxford special school

The Iffley Academy in Oxford remains shut today after water damage affected the site, as stated on the Oxfordshire County Council website.

The closure is also listed on the institution’s own website.

This outstanding-rated specialized educational setting serves children and teenagers up to 18 years old who have significant special educational needs and disabilities.

Pupils at the academy hold education, health and care plans and present various requirements, though the majority have moderate learning and cognitive challenges, autism spectrum condition, or social, emotional and mental health concerns.

The school received teaching school status in 2018 and operates within The Gallery Trust, a Multi Academy Trust with ambitious goals for its students.

Located in the Iffley district of Oxford, the facility is scheduled to remain closed through Monday, April 20.
