The celebrated Scottish band Wet Wet Wet is lined up to give a performance in Oxford in 2027 as part of a sizeable 40-date tour of Britain.

The concert series commemorates four decades since their debut album, Popped In Souried Out, first came out.

The group will perform at Oxford’s New Theatre on Tuesday, October 5.

Graeme Clark, who established the band, noted that when they made Popped In Souled Out, he was just a young teenager.

Four decades have elapsed, and those tracks have acquired their own life. This tour pays tribute to where they began while recognising what followed.

The album launched in 1987, reaching number one in the British charts and featuring hit songs such as Wishing I Was Lucky, Sweet Little Mystery, and Angel Eyes.

The act, now comprising Graeme Clark, guitarist Graeme Duffin, and vocalist Kevin Simm, will perform selections from their first release alongside other well-known material from their body of work.

Mr Simm said he was looking forward to getting back on tour in 2027 and marking 40 years of Popped In Souled Out.

It remained a tremendous honour and privilege to perform these timeless songs, and taking them to audiences right across the United Kingdom represented a lifelong ambition fulfilled.

Their 2027 tour will take place across two sections in Britain, in February and October, with supporting artists appearing for certain performances.
