Oxford Eatery Earns Top Food Safety Score

A fried chicken restaurant has achieved the top food hygiene rating available from inspectors.

Officers examining food safety standards awarded Chicken Cottage on Cowley Road a perfect score across every area assessed, including food handling procedures, cleanliness standards, and management of safety requirements.

This accomplishment represents the third consecutive occasion the Oxford branch has secured a five-star hygiene classification.

According to store managers Mr Alam and Mr Sadat, this outcome resulted from strict everyday cleaning schedules, frequent sanitation checks, and collective dedication among the workforce.

They additionally highlighted the significance of fresh ingredients that are never frozen, delivered according to a fixed schedule, alongside vigilant temperature control and proper storage to ensure product quality.

The managers also referenced the business’s pest control strategy.

Mr Alam and Mr Sadat explained that they collaborate with a nearby pest control firm which carries out examinations throughout the whole premises on a fortnightly basis, with comprehensive records kept on file.

Staff training was identified as crucial to maintaining these standards.

Mr Alam and Mr Sadat further stated that every employee possesses at least Level 2 EHO food hygiene qualification, with regular update sessions to keep standards uniformly elevated.

This third successive five-star rating showcases the dependability, organisation, and teamwork that underpin the business.

Chicken Cottage operates as a fast-food chain providing fried or grilled chicken dishes, chips, wraps, chicken portions and other offerings in a no-frills restaurant setting, according to its website.
