Well-known TV star and author Mark Thompson is bringing his award-winning show to Henley-on-Thames.

The Spectacular Science Show secured the Best Kids Show accolade at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

Taking place at The Kenton on Tuesday, May 2 at 2.30pm, the performance is part of a decade-long UK tour celebrating the show’s 10th anniversary.

A spokesperson for Thompson said the production demonstrates that science is far from dull, offering audiences an entirely fresh perspective on scientific exploration designed for both young and adult viewers.

Thompson, recognised for his dynamic approach to science communication, includes experiments such as massive elephant’s toothpaste eruptions, vortex generators, and screaming jelly babies in his presentation.

The show has been created to engage spectators spanning every age group.

Thompson, praised for his dedication to making scientific ideas accessible to all, has featured across television, radio, podcasts, and live venues on multiple occasions.

He has delivered talks at the Royal Astronomical Society, The Royal Institution, and the Norwich Science Festival.

His most recent book, 101 Facts You Didn’t Know About Space, frequently tops astronomy bestseller charts in both the United Kingdom and Canada.

This year he launched a new podcast called Cosmic Commerce, exploring various facets of the space sector from travel and development to protection and security.
