A community support charity has obtained financial backing to continue its established activities.

GroW delivers assistance to households in Grove and Wantage, receiving a sum of £320 from Barratt and David Wilson Homes Southern, a housebuilder headquartered in Oxfordshire.

The donation will fund food and drinks for two months of the group’s Stay and Play gatherings, which serve more than 120 families each week.

Sarah Stephenson, GroW’s coordinator, said the group was grateful to Barratt and David Wilson Homes Southern for the support.

Offering free and open groups remains a core priority.

Those using the service highly value the healthy snacks provided, which include two portions of fruit and vegetables.

These offerings also give young children the chance to taste unfamiliar nutritious options.

The charity delivers parenting guidance through the Centre for Emotional Health, with sessions available for pregnant women and partners alongside a ten-week course helping guardians interpret their offspring’s conduct.

Campbell Gregg, chief executive at Barratt and David Wilson Homes Southern, said they were pleased to assist GroW and its valuable work bringing neighbourhood families together.

Creating a protected and supportive space for mothers, fathers, and guardians during the formative years carries immense significance, and they feel honoured that their donation will allow these gatherings to persist in the coming months.

Barratt and David Wilson Homes Southern runs the Brooksite Meadows project in Grove, close to where GroW organises many of its parenting workshops.
