Jack Whitehall suffers trouser split during Cotswolds wedding celebration

The comedian and actor Jack Whitehall has disclosed that his trousers tore on his wedding day in the Cotswolds region.

The 37-year-old performer known for his work in Fresh Meat and Bad Education tied the knot with model Roxy Horner during a rural celebration held over the weekend.

The pair announced their engagement in December 2024, almost twelve months after welcoming their daughter Elsie.

Before the ceremony at Euridge Manor in Wiltshire, Whitehall, who had intended to wear a Tom Ford suit, encountered a clothing malfunction and opted for a spare Dunhill suit instead.

Speaking to British Vogue, Whitehall described how he crouched down to lift Elsie, causing his trousers to tear and exposing himself entirely.

Roxy Horner, 34, looked breathtaking in a strapless silk Galia Lahav gown with a veil and Alaia Le Coeur shoes, adorned with a diamond necklace, earrings, bracelet and ring from Roxanne Assoulin.

She subsequently changed into another Lahav creation for the evening celebrations, paired with Freya Rose heels.

Horner noted that she also wore her late grandmother’s engagement ring that had been passed down to her, which held particular significance.

For her borrowed item, she secured a bell to her bouquet following a longstanding family custom, completed with a blue ribbon on her garter, which later came loose.

The 34-year-old walked down the aisle alongside her father Perry, and although she felt extremely anxious beforehand, she subsequently experienced fits of laughter after repeatedly stumbling on her dress while climbing the steps.

Jack was tearful at the altar, she recalled.

Their daughter was among the three flower girls at the event, dressed in a white gown resembling her mother’s.

Horner remembered the touching moment when her daughter reached the end of the aisle, calling out for her father.

A string quartet performed Beauty And The Beast from the beloved Disney movie during the service, which also featured readings from numerous friends and relatives, including Horner’s sister, who shared a passage from Winnie the Pooh, while one of Whitehall’s oldest companions, Tally Gilbert, presented an original poem she had written for the couple.

The waterside ceremony included a Shakespearean sonnet delivered by actor and Whitehall’s father’s close friend Neil Stuke, before the newlyweds shared their first dance together to Michael Jackson’s Rock With You, with festivities lasting until the early hours.

The couple intend to travel to Venice for their honeymoon, including a trip aboard the luxury Belmond Venice-Simplon-Orient-Express train.
