Shoppers in Oxfordshire have voiced complaints about the state of the surroundings near a Sainsbury’s outlet, and the supermarket chain has now responded to their grievances.

Reports indicate that Gosford and Water Eaton Parish Council has been covering the costs of hedge maintenance and rubbish removal services in the pathway adjacent to the Kidlington store’s car park.

Buyers have grown irritated by discarded plastic bags, vandalism markings and various litter accumulating in the vicinity.

Earlier this week, Green Kidlington representative Fiona Mawson called on Sainsbury’s to demonstrate more pride in the area’s presentation.

In a statement, a Sainsbury’s representative said the business is looking into the issues raised, although they would not promise to carry out any tidying work.

According to the Sainsbury’s spokesperson, the company prioritizes the cleanliness and appearance of its shops and is examining the concerns from the local community, including collaborating with council officials to address any matters promptly.

The councillor had criticized the supermarket’s management for depending on the council to perform their cleaning duties.

She indicated that several residents had contacted her regarding the condition of this location and she had tried to raise the issue with Sainsbury’s, yet they appeared unconcerned.

The present circumstances in Kidlington come after a separate dispute regarding the declining condition of the Bicester store on Pioneer Square, which triggered a petition urging the chief executive to visit.
