A former IT professional has won the grand prize on the well-known TV quiz show, becoming only the seventh player to reach the million-pound milestone.

Roman Dubowski, who lives in the vicinity of Stockport, described the moment as surreal and confessed he had to brew himself some tea after his triumph.

He mentioned that presenter Jeremy Clarkson gave him some useful advice about the 50/50 lifeline that he still had available during the show.

According to Mr Dubowski, Clarkson indicated the lifeline ought to be employed when a player has an intuition that one or two of the presented options could be correct.

The champion intends to acquire a fresh home with his prize money and additionally has travel aspirations, with locations like New Zealand and South America on his wish list.

Mr Dubowski, who takes part in quiz games as a hobby, supplied the accurate answer to the last and most difficult question, which asked which trademarked logo from 1876 appears in James Joyce’s novel Ulysses and also in paintings by Manet and Picasso.
