A popular wildlife attraction is warning visitors planning trips during springtime.

The venue located beside the A361 near Burford welcomes big numbers of families from Oxfordshire and surrounding counties each year.

Officials have confirmed that the A361 will be closed between Burford Roundabout and the entrance to Cotswold Wildlife Park on Thursday, April 30 and Thursday, May 14.

This creates problems for those coming from the Oxfordshire direction, as the park will be inaccessible on those dates.

Diversions are being put in place. Visitors heading from Oxfordshire should travel via Carterton and Filkins to access the A361 from the Swindon side instead.

Travel times are expected to grow considerably longer.

A park representative explained that the closure announced by Oxfordshire County Council could affect journeys to the attraction. Extra time for travel was strongly recommended, with route planning advised before setting off. Visitors were urged to check their navigation before arrival and to travel safely.

The attraction was named Britain’s best zoo for the second year running in the previous year.

Cotswold Wildlife Park and Gardens secured the award from Outdoor Toys, which assessed criteria such as pricing, visitor feedback, range of species on show, and standing among similar attractions.
