Published on

Emergency responders were dispatched to an incident in a park area near Oxford on Sunday evening, April 26, shortly before 8pm.

Authorities responded to the location on Godstow Road in Wolvercote, where multiple law enforcement vehicles were observed.

A witness reported that the situation took place on the green space in front of The White Hart public house, subsequent to a confrontation on Port Meadow.

Submitted photographs depict a significant number of officers present in the Wolvercote vicinity.

Officials have been unable to verify whether any individuals were taken into custody or if any persons suffered injuries during the event.

Several complaints were submitted concerning an alleged assault, which may have involved a weapon, at Port Meadow occurring at the same time.

Thames Valley Police subsequently stated that these accounts were unsubstantiated and that the situation constituted a medical emergency requiring ambulance involvement, with no offenses logged.

The police force has been requested to provide additional details regarding this incident.
