Oxfordshire resident was left injured following an encounter with an individual who had approached his child, police have confirmed.

The case was among several incidents attended by officers from the Didcot and Wallingford Neighbourhood Policing Team in recent weeks.

According to officials, the team collaborated with the force’s crime response unit, which handles arrests and initial investigations, in addressing the assault.

Authorities explained that after a male made approaches towards a young girl, her father stepped in to confront him and sustained a bite injury during the altercation.

Local community support officers contributed to the response and investigation to ensure appropriate handling of the matter.

Emergency services also acted swiftly following reports of a disturbance outside a Didcot establishment, where a man was said to have assaulted his partner.

Officers from the Didcot and Wallingford neighbourhood team were instrumental in the arrest. They conducted searches of the vicinity, found the individual, and maintained surveillance until the response unit could take him into custody.

Officials noted that the prompt intervention enabled officers to apprehend the suspect without delay, manage the situation safely, support the victim, and bring the matter under control.

Additionally, the team attended various road traffic collisions, seized motorcycles being ridden irresponsibly, and assisted Wiltshire Police in locating a high-risk missing person from outside the area, who was subsequently found safe and returned to appropriate care.
