Emergency responders attended a call regarding an incident at a well-frequented outdoor area in Oxford over the weekend, with officials confirming one injured individual is currently being treated in hospital.

The occurrence happened on the evening of April 26, when police and paramedics were seen at the open space close to the White Hart pub in Wolvercote, neighbouring Port Meadow.

Witnesses present at the scene described the situation as involving a knife attack, leaving one person hurt at the location.

Thames Valley Police confirmed officers were sent after reports of a disturbance at Wolvercote Bathing Place on Godstow Road within the park grounds at around 6:30pm on Sunday, April 26.

Two men from Oxford, aged 45 and 22, have been arrested and charged with affray. Additionally, a 30-year-old man from Ealing has been held on suspicion of both affray and possessing an offensive weapon.

All three suspects remain in custody while inquiries proceed. One individual is currently receiving medical attention at a hospital.

A spokesperson for the force stated that one person sustained minor injuries and was presently receiving hospital treatment.

Earlier on Monday, officials noted officers had been alerted to reports of a disturbance at approximately 6:30pm the preceding day at the same location.

Enquiries into the incident are ongoing, though officials have stated there is no indication of any wider risk to the community.
