A hair professional from Idlewild Hairdressing in Oxford has earned a place in the national final of a prestigious UK hair contest.
Izzie Adams will bring her expertise to the L’Oréal Colour Trophy 2026 UK Grand Final at The O2 after impressing the judging panel during the Western semi-final held at Bristol’s Harbour Hotel.
The stylist earned her spot in the national showpiece, though she confesses she never expected to advance this far.
She stated that progressing beyond the opening round already exceeded her hopes, so securing a place at The O2 holds tremendous significance for her personally.
This accomplishment matters greatly to the salon too. She is the first hairdresser there in several years to genuinely venture beyond familiar territory, and she trusts it illustrates the benchmarks they pursue.
The initial ambiguity left her feeling uneasy, but once the contest got underway, those worries dissipated and it became about demonstrating her abilities under pressure.

Adams was chosen as a contender in the L’Oréal Colour Trophy Star Award section, alongside Chloe Woodward from The Beauty Barn in Gloucestershire.
Eboni Snook and Troy Boyd from Anthony John Salons in Lichfield, alongside Zoe Hodgkiss from Zoe Hodgkiss – Hair Artistry in Holsworthy, also secured spots in the L’Oréal Colour Trophy Award category.
Jason Miller observed that this marks his 44th year in the profession, and he cannot recall missing many L’Oréal Colour Trophy finals throughout that span.

As the competition marks its 70th anniversary, the standard of submissions stays remarkable. What consistently impresses are those who expertly merge all components to deliver a unified, eye-catching appearance.
The semi-final also featured a live artistic showcase overseen by Robert Eaton of Russell Eaton Hair, together with up-and-coming L’Oréal Professionnel artists from the ProEDIT programme who presented modern hair colouring and styling approaches.
The UK Grand Final will take place at The O2 in London on July 6, bringing together the country’s finest colourists as they vie for the championship title.
