An update has been released regarding reports that an Oxfordshire educational institution will close for a period.
Oxfordshire County Council has this morning (Wednesday, April 29) revised the ‘unplanned school closure’ section of its website, stating that St Edmund’s Catholic Primary School will only be shut on the afternoon of Wednesday May 6.
Previously, the council had indicated the school had been closed every afternoon beginning Monday, April 6, with the closure lasting through Thursday, May 7.

Found on Radley Road in Abingdon, this institution operates as a voluntary aided Catholic school, sponsored by Portsmouth Diocese and overseen by Oxfordshire County Council.
Approximately 30 children join the reception year annually, and the school employs more than 20 staff members.
The cause of the closure remains unspecified, though it has been limited to the afternoon session, with the school functioning normally throughout the morning of May 6.
