Police have arrested a fourth man in connection with a reported stabbing at Port Meadow close to Oxford, where one victim needed medical attention.

Officers confirmed the fourth arrest took place on Sunday evening (April 26) at Wolvercote Bathing Area on the same date as the incident.

Emergency responders headed to Godstow Road after receiving reports of a disturbance at around 6:30pm, with officers and paramedics seen at the location.

Members of the public who were present described a stabbing having taken place, with one man suffering wounds at the spot.

Thames Valley Police announced on Monday that three people had been held, then corrected this on Wednesday to confirm a fourth arrest had happened on the day the incident occurred.

A teenager aged 16 from Southall was held on suspicion of affray, together with two men aged 22 and 45 from Oxford who faced identical accusations.

A 30-year-old from Ealing was taken into custody on suspicion of affray and illegal possession of a weapon.

One of those arrested was taken to hospital for care for injuries received during the occurrence whilst in custody, but has since returned home.

All four individuals have been granted conditional bail pending further investigation.
