A long-serving aviation professional is scaling back his duties after spending more than 25 years with the organisation.

Glen Moreman held the position of operations manager at Cotswold Airport in Kemble and will now return to serving as a Flight Information Service Officer, having been instrumental in transforming the former military base into a busy aviation hub processing more than 36,000 aircraft movements each year.

Suzannah Harvey, chief executive of Cotswold Airport, said that Glen had devoted 25 years to the heart of the airport and his contributions to its growth had been outstanding. She expressed satisfaction that he would continue in his FISO role, helping pilots and supporting day-to-day operations. She noted that these changes would ensure suitable management was in place to guide future expansion, innovation and local opportunities.

The site, formerly known as RAF Kemble, has been privately owned since 2001 when Ronan Harvey purchased it.

The location now hosts several aviation businesses including ASI, GCAM, alongside emerging aerospace companies ZeroAvia and Vertical Aerospace.

Under a new leadership structure, Graham Carter has taken on the roles of group chief of staff and airport managing director, while Antonia Silk has been promoted to operations director and joined the board.

Mr Moreman explained that he grew up in Kemble and watched planes at the airfield when it was still RAF Kemble, so dedicating his entire career to the site had achieved a childhood dream. He described it as an extraordinary journey filled with highlights such as organising the Hunter Hawker 50th Anniversary event at the airport.

Cotswold Airport is working towards achieving carbon net-zero status by 2030.
