The well-known TV star stepped into an educational capacity as she helped students at a school in Henley, Oxfordshire.

This prominent figure acted as a judge on the beloved baking show throughout its BBC tenure between 2010 and 2016, after which the programme moved to Channel 4.

Since 2019, she has made her home in Henley, situated in the southern region of Oxfordshire, together with her husband Paul Hunnings.

The nonagenarian recently visited a nearby educational establishment to aid youngsters in honing their cooking skills.

Dame Mary appeared without warning at Gillotts School for a baking workshop during the students’ study period, surprising the pupils.

The former Bake Off judge visited the secondary school to help Year 11 students unwind from test stress by joining them in a culinary lesson.

During her time there, she conversed with the teenagers, offering advice and encouragement as they prepared food together.

Food technology teacher Clare Gosling, who organised the event, explained to the Slough and South Bucks Express that the school had managed to secure Mary Berry during an ideal period when the students had completed their food technology assignments and were fully engaged in studying for other subjects. She added that in December 2024, Dame Mary illuminated the Christmas lights in Henley, and the students were thrilled. Following her participation in the Henley Literary Festival, she reached out to her representative. She requested a visit to their classroom, and twelve months later, she did visit.
