A man from Oxford is scheduled to stand trial in 2028 after rejecting accusations of sexually assaulting a young girl.
Elliott Day, residing at Songers Close in Oxford, made an appearance at Oxford Crown Court on Thursday, April 16.
The 40-year-old faces two charges of sexual assault, according to prosecutors the offenses took place in Oxford spanning from October 27, 2017 through June 20, 2023.
Day entered pleas of not guilty to both allegations.
Court documents reveal the accuser was six years old during the period in question.
The court was told the central question for the trial will involve determining whether the physical contact had a sexual character.
Proceedings are slated to begin on March 20, 2028, with an estimated duration of two days.
Mr. Justice Ian Pringle KC informed Day that he would be permitted to remain free on bail until his trial, subject to certain conditions.
