A driver has been disqualified after being recorded by an automated enforcement camera traveling at 53 miles per hour along the M4 motorway.
The individual, John Kibugi, was detected traveling at 53mph in the vicinity of Welford, Newbury.
Kibugi, aged 60 and residing at Somerset Road, New Barnet, was operating his vehicle on the eastbound lanes when the capture occurred on June 6, 2024.
The same driver was also documented traveling at 50mph along that same section of roadway on August 9, 2024.
Two charges of violating a temporary speed limit were upheld against Kibugi at High Wycombe Magistrates’ Court on March 9.
Court proceedings revealed that a 40mph speed restriction had been implemented due to construction work at both times of the violations.
Kibugi received a 12-month driving prohibition and three penalty points were added to his license.
Additionally, he was mandated to pay a £220 monetary penalty, £85 in court expenses, and an £88 surcharge.
Payment in full is required by April 27 at the latest.
