A man from Oxfordshire has faced criminal charges in connection with an alleged stabbing incident involving a woman in her 60s, whom police say the suspect was acquainted with.
The 27-year-old resident of Fair Close in Bicester made his initial court appearance at Oxford Crown Court on April 24.
Michael Brits is facing a single charge of attempted murder alongside an accusation of carrying a knife in a public area.
He also stands accused of threatening a woman in her 60s, who officers state was known to Brits, with a blade and committing an act of public indecency.
No plea was entered during the proceedings, and a follow-up hearing has been scheduled for July 3.
The legal matter arose after emergency services responded to a significant law enforcement presence at Fair Close within the Glory Farm estate region of Bicester on Friday, March 27.
The emergency response involved multiple officers arriving in police vehicles and vans, alongside ambulance crews and a helicopter medical unit.
Brits was ordered to remain in detention pending further court proceedings.
