A forthcoming publication exploring the heritage of Bicester’s former RAF installation is scheduled for release this spring.

To commemorate the centenary of Bicester Motion, the 192-page volume titled 100: A Technical Site’s Centenary will showcase one hundred specially selected images compiled across twelve years.

The book debuts at the Scramble gathering on Sunday, April 26, documenting the facility’s evolution from its provisional origins during the First World War, through its official founding in 1926, to its present function as a hub for automotive innovation.

Bicester Motion acquired the 444-acre property in 2013, undertaking restoration and conservation efforts on much of the former bomber station, with substantial sections protected under Grade II listing.

Previously, the location served various purposes, among them a US military medical facility linked to the Gulf War satellite operations, and had sat vacant for two decades.

Those wishing to obtain a copy can purchase one for £12 at the Scramble occasion, with a limited quantity of hardcover versions on offer.

Following this, the publication will be sold through online channels.
