Housing values in West Oxfordshire have risen by 0.8 per cent during the last twelve months, performing better than the broader south east region.
Research from Zoopla indicates this increase has pushed the average property price up by roughly £3,400, taking the typical home value to £423,200 as of March 2026.
Nevertheless, this growth falls marginally short of the national average house price rise of 1.3 per cent recorded since March 2025.
Even with this more modest expansion relative to the UK average, West Oxfordshire continues to rank among the costlier areas, with property values significantly exceeding the UK mean of £271,700.
Across the most recent month, residential values held steady but have climbed 14.5 per cent when measured against prices from five years earlier.
Against this backdrop, the sales market in West Oxfordshire has become more subdued compared to the typical pace over the past five years, with properties requiring 42 days to secure an offer after listing, rather than the typical 37 days.
This represents a considerable extension beyond the UK average of 33 days, which has remained consistent with the prior year.
Despite recent economic shifts, the market continues to operate effectively, with the housing inventory standing five per cent higher than the same period last year, providing purchasers with increased options.
This situation has led buyers to pass over properties priced beyond what current market conditions justify.
The longest selling timeframe was documented in Harrow, where properties need 54 days to find buyers compared to 33 days twelve months prior, representing a notable 65 per cent increase.
Conversely, the housing market experienced declines in locations such as Cambridge, Portsmouth, and Bournemouth, where property values decreased.
Despite the measured pace, the West Oxfordshire property market maintains solid health with an ample supply of available residences.
