Abingdon & Witney College has earned a place among England’s leading apprenticeship providers.

The latest National Achievement Rate Tables show the college placed fifth across the country when compared with other general further education institutions for overall apprenticeship success.

The institution achieved a 77.4 per cent success rate, surpassing the national benchmark of 65.4 per cent.

Edward Collett, the college’s commercial director, commented that the outcomes demonstrated apprentices’ commitment, staff expertise and employers’ continued investment.

Being acknowledged among the nation’s premier apprenticeship providers illustrates the tangible difference such programmes make to professional paths, enterprises and Oxfordshire communities.

Data revealed the college’s particularly strong position in Level 3 apprenticeships, which correspond to A-level qualifications.

Learners aged 24 and above secured a 91.4 per cent success rate.

Youth apprentices also excelled, ranking second nationally in Level 3 and seventh in Level 2 provision for those aged 16 to 18.

Across age categories and qualification tiers, the majority of apprenticeship results fell within the highest 25 per cent nationally.

This performance stemmed partly from the college’s strength in construction and business courses, which together represent approximately two-thirds of its apprenticeship delivery.

Construction programmes ranked second nationwide, while business qualifications positioned the college in the top 10 per cent of general further education colleges.
