The celebrated vocalist who dominated the music scene four decades ago has revealed plans for a series of British performances as part of his campaign to protect a traditional inn situated close to the Oxfordshire boundary.
Hadley became globally recognised during the 1980s fronting new wave group Spandau Ballet, delivering memorable chart-toppers such as True, Gold and Through The Barricades.
At 65 years of age, the singer is well-known for his dynamic, emotive voice and has maintained a thriving solo career following his departure from the group, alongside theatre projects and broadcasting work.
Hadley has recently added his weight to the effort to rescue The Rose & Thistle in Haddenham near Thame, beyond the Oxfordshire frontier in Buckinghamshire.
Locals are working to bring the historic coaching inn, which originates from the 1700s, back into operation after it shut its doors in 2019.
At present, The Rose & Thistle Reborn initiative has collected in excess of £65,000, representing approximately 10 percent of the £750,000 target figure.
Hadley has encouraged supporters to purchase shares to bolster the crowdfunding effort and expressed that the establishment is a wonderful local venue he has frequented numerous times over the years, adding that community and neighbourhood pubs must be protected.
This initiative to revive the pub coincides with the reveal of a fresh British tour for the artist later this year.
The Christmas Big Band Tour 2026 encompasses 19 performances across the nation, with a stop at Oxford’s New Theatre on November 12.
Following last year’s capacity audiences, the tour will feature the artist returning with renditions of classic jazz compositions, swing classics and songs from the 1980s performed in his characteristic commanding style, accompanied by the TH Band and a full brass ensemble.
Concert attendees can anticipate legendary material from artists including Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett and Elvis Presley, alongside his big band reworkings of True, Gold and Through The Barricades.
