Court proceedings at Oxford Magistrates’ Court:

Marek Henszke, aged 39 and residing in Phipps Road, Oxford, admitted to operating a Fiat 500 along Banbury Road, Oxford, on January 9 this year whilst disqualified from driving and without third-party insurance. The court mandated payment of £85 in costs, a £175 victim surcharge and a £438 financial penalty. He also received a five-month prohibition from driving.

Edward Halmarack, 39, from Spring Gardens, Abingdon, entered guilty pleas for assault by beating and criminal damage committed in Oxford on March 12 this year. He received a six-month conditional discharge and was instructed to provide £480 in compensation.

Alwyn Davies, aged 35 and based in Elmhurst Way, Carterton, admitted to drug-related driving offences in a Nissan Pulsar along Appley Way, Witney, on October 18 last year. Costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £114 were imposed. He must adhere to the responsible officer’s requirements to attend appointments for up to 10 days and complete 80 hours of unpaid work within 12 months. Additionally, a driving ban of 18 months was issued.

Sylvie Martin, 53, of Henry Taunt Close, Headington, Oxford, admitted nine counts of shoplifting in Oxford between October and December last year, with goods valued at £1,638.08. She was directed to undergo six months of drug rehabilitation and six months of mental health treatment, comply with the responsible officer’s appointment requirements for up to 10 days, and pay £275 in compensation.

Sophia Pratelli, 38, from Bonar Road, Headington, Oxford, was convicted of two counts of employing threatening, abusive or insulting language or behaviour intended to cause harassment, alarm or distress in Oxford on February 9 this year. Further convictions were recorded for racially or religiously aggravated intentional harassment, alarm or distress through words or writing, along with assault by beating of an emergency worker in Oxford on February 5 this year. She was additionally convicted of failing to surrender to police bail in High Wycombe on May 6 this year. She must comply with the responsible officer’s appointment requirements for up to 25 days and pay £325 in compensation.

Abdullah Zarzour, 23, of Hudson Way, London, admitted to drug driving in a BMW 3 series on the southbound A34 at Weston on the Green on July 29 last year. Costs of £300 were awarded alongside a £300 fine. A 12-month driving ban was also imposed.

Zaheeb Bokhari, aged 29 and residing in Warneford Lane, Headington, Oxford, entered guilty pleas for drug driving in a Volkswagen Golf along Abingdon Road, Oxford, on December 23 2024, and for possession of a class B controlled substance, namely cannabis, during the same incident. The court ordered payment of £250 costs, a £120 victim surcharge and a £300 financial penalty. He received a 12-month prohibition from driving, and the substances were ordered destroyed.

Daniel Robinson, 33, from Luther Street, Oxford, admitted three counts of remaining on premises in breach of a closure order in Abingdon during August last year, along with one count of burglary in Abingdon on August 27 last year. He received a nine-month custodial sentence suspended for 12 months and was fitted with an electronic monitoring tag for three months. He must also complete 12 months of mental health rehabilitation and pay £325 in costs.
