A march against small-boat arrivals has been scheduled for Oxford city centre on Saturday, November 14, with participants due to gather at Carfax Tower.
The event is being organised by a local group identifying itself as patriots and is intended to attract people from Oxfordshire and other areas.
Its organisers say stronger borders, tighter control of the immigration system and government consideration of ordinary people’s concerns are among the issues they want to highlight.
The planned demonstration concerns the small-boat crossings that regularly travel from France across the English Channel and have attracted widespread national attention.
Track UK data published by BBC News recorded almost 21,000 crossings so far this year, representing a 40 per cent reduction compared with 2025.
Housing arrangements for people arriving by boat, including numerous asylum seekers, have also prompted controversy.
Hotels have previously accommodated some arrivals, although military sites are now being used instead, including a site at Piddington in Oxfordshire.
Organisers are encouraging attendees to bring flags and have asked for a large, peaceful and respectful gathering.
They have also stated that violence, intimidation and hatred will not be accepted.
The announcement follows a large anti-racism march through Oxford city centre on Saturday, October 17.
That event was organised by Oxford Stand Up to Racism, whose organisers said it aimed to address what they described as growing hate.
A smaller counter-protest was staged by the Oxford patriots group.
