Oxfordshire County Council has begun an informal consultation concerning parking controls in the West Oxford Controlled Parking Zone as part of a two-year programme to assess parking arrangements across Oxford.
The authority said previous alterations to parking restrictions had often been introduced in stages through individual development projects and transport schemes affecting limited sections of a zone.
Periodic assessments are intended to keep controlled parking areas effective as travel patterns change and to account for the effects of new development in the city.
Letters have been issued to properties within the West Oxford CPZ inviting recipients to complete a survey by 5pm on November 13.
The questionnaire is also available online.
Residents are being asked whether parking restriction operating hours should be extended or reduced, as well as whether the existing controls remain effective.
The survey also covers the availability of short-stay parking for visitors, the possible need for further electric vehicle charging bays, and whether parking provision should be adjusted in response to local demand.
Responses from residents and businesses in the area will be considered alongside survey information about current restrictions.
Oxford City Council decided in December 2024 to allocate Community Infrastructure Levy funding for a number of CPZ reviews across the city.
West Oxford subsequently entered the programme following talks between Oxfordshire County Council officers and local councillors.
Should the review identify a need for amendments, the authority would prepare detailed proposals and conduct another statutory public consultation before reaching a final decision.
