A carp fisherman from Oxfordshire has achieved a notable catch at the Linear Fisheries complex in what has been described as a remarkable feat.
Dan Belfield has been credited with capturing a fish known as the Black Spot, establishing a new benchmark for the Manor Farm water body within the complex.
Manor Farm lake spans approximately 14 acres and is home to around 700 carp.
Over the previous two years, six separate fish exceeding 40 pounds have been taken from these waters, with the previous facility record standing at 51 pounds and 4 ounces.
That standard has now been surpassed following Mr Belfield’s capture, which registered 52 pounds on the scale.
This achievement follows shortly after another record-breaking moment at the venue, when Neil Rivers landed a carp weighing 55 pounds and 13 ounces at Brasenose One.
Representatives from Linear Fisheries confirmed that a new facility benchmark had been set at Manor Farm during that period.
The Black Spot specimen was taken using a Heritage Hookbait pop-up presentation deployed over an extensive bed of particle bait.
The Manor Farm water has produced an exceptional run of significant fish recently.
Manor Farm occupies a distinguished reputation among the carp fishing community.
Linear Fisheries maintains an international standing within the sport and ranks among the leading day-ticket venues in the United Kingdom.
The complex, situated to the west of Oxford, comprises 20 individual waters and regularly accommodates competitive events and angling competitions.
