Twelve months have elapsed since Christian Horner and Geri Halliwell-Horner made a significant life choice following an £80m settlement after their departure from Red Bull.
The former Formula 1 chief, whose residence is located in the vicinity of Banbury, had his position as Red Bull team principal terminated last year after approximately twenty years of service.
Horner held the role from 2005, guiding the team to eight drivers’ world championships and six constructors’ titles throughout his tenure.
The 52-year-old inhabits a £9.2m estate alongside his wife in the region bordering Oxfordshire and Northamptonshire.
According to The Express, an £80m payment was agreed upon after extended negotiations, though BBC Sport reported the sum at approximately £52m.
Sources indicated that around this period the previous year, the couple decided to undertake a Scottish road trip.
The excursion had been planned for several years and was referred to by the pair as their honeymoon.
The couple exchanged vows in the Cotswolds roughly ten years prior, with guests including Dawn French, Emma Bunton, and the late Niki Lauda among the attendees.
Following confirmation of his exit from Red Bull, Horner described his time as an honour and privilege.
He expressed immense pride in the team’s accomplishments, noting the breaking of records and achievement of unprecedented levels of success.
Horner stated that his greatest fulfilment came from assembling and guiding a group of highly skilled and motivated professionals, witnessing their development and achievements.
