A public house in Whitchurch is preparing to welcome customers again following the tragic passing of its manager.
Rebecca Bullock, referred to as Becca by those who knew her, lost her life during an incident at Rosenheim railway station in the Bavaria region of Germany in the early hours of Sunday morning on August 30.
Reports from the BBC indicated she sustained fatal stab wounds.
Officers from Bavarian Police apprehended a 27-year-old German man at the location, who authorities stated had no fixed residence.
Ms Bullock held the position of manager at The White Swan establishment, situated close to the Oxfordshire boundary.
The venue expressed their grief through a statement published on the Facebook platform.
The message conveyed profound sorrow, stating the team were compelled to share devastating news about their colleague.
It explained that Becca had died while on holiday abroad.
The post expressed the team’s deepest sympathies to her family during this period, noting that she had been held in high regard by every member of staff and the pub’s regular patrons.
Messages in the form of flowers were laid outside the premises in her memory.
The White Swan has now confirmed plans to resume operations.
An announcement published via social media channels explained that following several particularly difficult days, and with the blessing of Becca’s family, the decision had been made to reopen from 3.00pm that day.
The communication suggested this reflected what she would have preferred.
It was noted that trading hours and food service would deviate from usual patterns throughout the week as the team sought to return to something approaching normal operations.
The message concluded with expressions of gratitude and affection from the venue’s staff.
