A family-oriented celebration is set to take place at the Cotswolds Designer Outlet, bringing together emergency responders and community groups for a day of entertainment and engagement.
The annual Community and Emergency Services Day is scheduled for Sunday, September 6, running from 10.30am through to 4.30pm.
The event aims to honour the individuals and organisations that contribute to the wellbeing of the local area.
Adrian Field, who manages the shopping centre, explained that the outlet serves a purpose beyond retail.
The complex houses more than 50 different brands, yet functions as a hub that fosters a sense of belonging among visitors and residents.
This gathering provides an opportunity to recognise that community spirit, drawing together emergency services personnel, local volunteers and families for an afternoon packed with diverse activities.
Representatives from multiple charitable and emergency organisations will be present throughout the day.
These include the local fire brigade, an air ambulance service covering the western region, mountain rescue teams, lifeboat personnel, army cadets, sea cadets, and water safety volunteers.
Additional groups will also maintain information stands at the venue.
Entertainment options include a silent disco, an inflatable climbing structure, and children’s face painting.
Those interested in sports can participate in rugby passing challenges alongside members of the local rugby union club and a youth rugby development programme.
Throughout the event, artist Sam Morris will work on a painting in real time, with members of the public invited to add their own contributions to the artwork.
The programme caters to all age groups, offering a comprehensive day out for households visiting the outlet.
