Emergency services responded to a road traffic incident in Oxford on Friday evening, involving a BMW and a heavy goods vehicle.
Thames Valley Police confirmed that officers attended the collision at the junction of the A4074 and Grenoble Road, close to the Kassam Stadium area, during the late hours of September 18.
Fire crews also arrived at the scene alongside police units.
A witness who observed the scene shortly after 1am reported seeing multiple fire appliances and a significant police presence, with approximately ten patrol vehicles at the location.
According to authorities, a male aged in his twenties was driving the BMW and sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision.
The individual was subsequently taken to hospital where he continues to receive medical care.
A Volvo articulated lorry was also involved in the incident.
The witness indicated that the car appeared to have come off the A4074 slip road, though this detail has not been officially confirmed.
Police were alerted to the collision at approximately 11.35pm on September 19 at the junction of the A4074 and Grenoble Road in the Sandford-on-Thames area.
The fire service attended alongside officers, and temporary road closures were implemented in the vicinity.
Those closures have since been removed.
