Oxford Magistrates’ Court heard several cases during the latest session, with defendants receiving a range of penalties including fines, driving bans, and rehabilitation orders.
Oliver Orrom, aged 41 and residing in Waterperry, Wheatley, was convicted of refusing to provide a specimen when requested by officers in Headington on June 20 this year.
Costs of £85 were imposed alongside an £80 victim surcharge and a £200 financial penalty.
The road ban spans 17 months, though this period could be shortened by 17 weeks if a specified course is finished by August 20 the following year.
James Watt, 31, from Netherwoods Road in Headington, admitted possessing a class B controlled substance in Oxford on two occasions, specifically on February 28 and again on March 10 this year.
On the latter date, he also acknowledged using threatening, abusive, or insulting conduct with the intention of provoking unlawful violence within the city.
A fine of £170 was issued, and the illegal substances were ordered to be disposed of.
Tayab Mohammed, 29, of Broughton Road in Banbury, entered guilty pleas to operating a Volkswagen Passat while under the influence of drugs along the A34 close to Kidlington on March 22 this year.
The court mandated payment of £85 in costs, a £98 victim surcharge, and a £246 penalty.
Driving privileges were suspended for a 12-month period.
Joshua Beadle, 33, residing at Hertford Close in Bicester, was found guilty of drug driving in a Peugeot 307 at Spencer Close in Woodstock on March 28 this year.
He received costs of £85, a victim surcharge of £48, and a £120 fine.
A 12-month disqualification from driving was imposed.
Ali Bero, 25, from Rymers Lane in Oxford, admitted to four charges of assaulting police officers during separate incidents in Oxford and Abingdon occurring on January 7 and May 17 the previous year.
The court ordered payment of £85 costs and £200 in compensation.
Conditions attached to the sentence included a 120-day abstinence requirement from alcohol, 12 months of mental health rehabilitation, 12 rehabilitation sessions, and compliance with appointment attendance for up to 25 days as directed by the supervising officer.
Darren Garnon, 41, of Hewell Lane in Tardebigge, pleaded guilty to multiple driving offences.
The first set of offences involved operating a Citroen Berlingo on Britannia Road in Banbury on November 1 the previous year, comprising drug driving, travelling without valid third party cover, and holding no driving licence.
Further identical charges were admitted regarding a Peugeot 3008 on Northampton Road in Weston-on-the-Green on March 7 this year.
A financial penalty of £200 was issued, with driving prohibited for 17 months.
Lucie Ryle, 54, from Orkney Place in Witney, was convicted of operating a blue Mini Cooper whilst over the legal alcohol limit on a journey from the B4022 in Hailey to her home address on June 6 this year.
The reading showed 130 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath.
She was required to pay £85 costs and a £114 victim surcharge.
The sentence included a three-month programme for alcohol issues and a six-month programme addressing mental health concerns, with attendance at appointments required for up to five days.
Driving was banned for 29 months, reducible by 29 weeks upon successful completion of an approved course by April 29 2028.
Charlotte Hunt, 35, residing at Reades Lane in Sonning Common near Reading, admitted causing criminal damage in Mapledurham on April 4 this year.
A 12-month conditional discharge was granted, along with £85 in costs, a £26 victim surcharge, and £500 in compensation to the affected party.
