A fundraising initiative at a retirement living complex in Oxfordshire will see a developer contribute five pounds per guest to a cancer support organisation.
The Macmillan Cancer Support coffee morning is scheduled to take place at Gladwell Lodge in Didcot on Wednesday, September 23, between 11am and 1pm.
Churchill Living, the retirement developer behind the scheme, is organising the event as part of the national charity’s annual campaign.
Each person who attends will trigger a five-pound donation from Churchill Living.
Refreshments including beverages and sweet treats will be available in the shared lounge area.
The Mayor of Didcot has confirmed attendance at the gathering.
Caroline Haswell, senior divisional marketing manager at the developer, expressed enthusiasm about welcoming visitors to the properties.
These occasions provide an excellent opportunity to raise funds for a deserving cause while introducing the local community to retirement living with Churchill.
The company will give five pounds for every person present, hoping many local residents will participate in supporting the charity.
Since 2009, Churchill Living has partnered with Macmillan Cancer Support and aims to reach one million pounds in total contributions through its fundraising activities.
Gladwell Lodge comprises one and two-bedroom apartments designed for people aged over 60, equipped with features including a 24-hour emergency helpline and video door entry system.
