A duo of property professionals from Oxfordshire covered 180 miles on bicycles to collect money for a charitable cause supporting poorly children and their relatives.
Brendan and Lisa Kay, who operate Parkers Properties outlets in Witney and Eynsham, joined associates from the wider estate agency network for the fundraising initiative known as the Tour de Parkers.
The expedition spanned two days and involved visiting each of the company’s 17 locations distributed throughout Oxfordshire, Gloucestershire, Hampshire, and Berkshire.
As managing director of Parkers Properties in the western part of Oxfordshire, Brendan Kay noted that the company had organised a comparable undertaking seven years previously when it operated fewer offices and therefore covered fewer miles.
He observed that the latest edition presented significantly greater physical demands, though the worthwhile nature of the charitable objective motivated participants to demonstrate exceptional camaraderie throughout both days of the event.
The journey commenced at the Stroud branch before culminating at Parkers’ recently established premises in Basingstoke.
Collectively, the riders have amassed contributions exceeding £4,000 destined for the Ronald McDonald House facility located in Oxford.
This accommodation centre serves relatives of young patients obtaining medical care at Oxford Children’s Hospital.
The establishment comprises 62 sleeping rooms alongside communal cooking areas, washing equipment, recreational spaces, and outdoor grounds, enabling families to preserve everyday routines throughout demanding circumstances.
In her capacity as director of Parkers Properties in West Oxfordshire, Lisa Kay expressed gratitude toward all individuals who supported the fundraising effort.
She emphasised that each contribution proves particularly valuable for organisations such as Ronald McDonald House given the prevailing financial conditions.
During the previous year, the facility provided lodging for more than one thousand families.
