Footwear retailer Schuh is preparing to open a redesigned and expanded store at Westgate Oxford later this year.
The company will relocate from its existing premises to a larger unit situated on the lower ground floor of the shopping centre.
The additional space will enable a broader showcase of footwear for men, women, and children from internationally recognised brands.
Clare Martin, who serves as centre director at Westgate Oxford, expressed enthusiasm about the development.
She noted that Schuh has maintained strong popularity among visitors to the centre and confirmed that the brand would be launching a more substantial retail presence.
Martin added that ongoing investment from retail partners demonstrates confidence in Westgate Oxford, and she anticipated a positive reception for the new store when it opens.
Further details regarding the exact opening date are expected to be announced in due course.
Schuh originated in Edinburgh in 1981 and currently operates more than 100 stores throughout the United Kingdom.
Meanwhile, Clark’s inaugurated a fresh store at Westgate Oxford during 2024.
Russell & Bromley has also restored its presence at the centre, returning to its former unit near John Lewis, which serves as the development’s anchor store.
The heritage brand, which celebrates 150 years of operation, came through a challenging period of nationwide administration earlier this year.
The company was acquired by Next as part of a rescue package finalised in January, though this process resulted in the closure of 33 stores.
