A planned theatrical production in the British capital has been abandoned following the withdrawal of its lead performers.
The revival of the Sondheim musical, which draws inspiration from Georges Seurat’s renowned pointillist artwork, will not proceed as originally intended.
The production was scheduled to debut at the Barbican venue in 2027.
The show, which premiered in 1984, had been due to feature both actors known for their roles in the film adaptation of the musical Wicked.
The production company confirmed the cancellation on the fourteenth of September.
Representatives stated that the rights would be maintained with intentions to stage the production the following year instead.

The development occurred after the American performer announced through representatives that she would be temporarily stepping away from public visibility.
