Oxfordshire County Council is seeking public feedback on potential modifications to disabled parking facilities across the region.
The local authority is evaluating plans to establish additional disabled parking spaces while simultaneously removing others that are deemed no longer required.
Areas under consideration for new disabled parking bays include Chinnor, Thame, Cholsey, Wallingford, and Great Milton within South Oxfordshire.
In the Vale of White Horse district, additional bays could be introduced in locations such as Abingdon, Faringdon, Longcot, Radley, Drayton, Wantage, and East Hanney.
Conversely, certain existing disabled parking spaces are slated for removal.
These include bays located in Cholsey, Goring, Sonning Common, and several spots within Henley-on-Thames.
Residents have the opportunity to contribute their opinions through a dedicated survey.
The consultation period concludes at 5pm on Friday, October 2.
Council officials emphasised that feedback from local residents holds significance in the decision-making process.
While straightforward questions raised during the consultation window will receive responses, more intricate matters will be addressed within the broader review framework.
Once the consultation phase concludes, the council will undertake a comprehensive review of all submitted responses.
Should any objections emerge from the feedback, a formal report will be prepared and submitted to the Cabinet Member responsible for Highway Management for consideration at a meeting scheduled for later in 2026.
These subsequent meetings are open to the public, with residents permitted to submit applications to address the assembled members.
Documentation including meeting agendas and supporting reports will be published on the Oxfordshire County Council website approximately one week before each gathering.
Attendees have been encouraged to review the published agenda in advance, as the timing of specific reports may occasionally be adjusted to accommodate scheduling requirements.
